Description

The gazebo, dating from the early to mid 19th century, was likely built for the Staveley family of Stainley Hall. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and cobbles, topped with a sheet metal roof. This circular, single-storey building is accessed from the south side and is integrated into a garden wall. The entrance features a sawn stone door surround, though it lacks any door fittings. On the north and east sides, there are small square windows that provide views of the main street of North Stainley. The gazebo has a tall conical roof topped with a wooden finial. Inside, the walls are plain plaster, and the roof structure is braced timber.
