Description

Packhorse Bridge is a 17th century or early 18th century narrow hog-back bridge located on the north side of Levenside in Stokesley. It is constructed of coursed stone and features high parapets over a single round arch, which is adorned with cut voussoirs and a dripmould. The courses of the parapet are sloped, and the ends of the bridge are slightly splayed to square piers. For further reference, see Jervoise's "Ancient Bridges of the North of England."
