Description

The Cross Base is a stone structure located in Ravensworth on The Green. It is possibly from the 16th century and consists of a single piece of stone that is now badly worn. The base is square in shape, with the upper corners chamfered and broach-stopped. On the upper surface, there is a bump, which is likely the dowel that supported the next section of the cross shaft.
