Description
Newby Grange is an 18th-century building that has been altered over time. It is constructed of local pinkish brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with some sections rebuilt in an English garden wall style and part rendered. The roof is covered with modern concrete pantiles, and there are stone copings and kneelers. The central block of the building is two storeys high and features three windows, while the lower, set-back two-storey wings have modern windows. The windows in the central block are in their original openings and have gauged brick flat arches with keystones. The rear elevation displays a stepped eaves cornice. Datestones from 1770, 1803, and 1881 have been reset in a modern porch.
