Description
The cow byre, located approximately 400 metres to the west of Kiplin Hall, dates from the mid-18th century and is built of rubblestone with ashlar dressings in a Gothick style. It is a single storey structure with three bays. The end bays feature blank pointed-arch windows with voussoirs, while the central bay projects forward and has a pointed-arch doorway, also with voussoirs, and an infilled tympanum. A stone band runs along the structure, topped with an embattled parapet that includes a blank quatrefoil in each bay and stone coping. The side elevations are adorned with cross-shaped blank arrow-hole openings and embattled parapets.
