Description

No 20 High Street is a house that has been converted into a betting shop. It dates from the mid-18th century and is constructed from coursed squared limestone with a Westmorland slate roof. The building has three storeys and one bay. To the right, there are two steps leading up to a panelled door set within a stone architrave. The shop features a small bowed window with 30 panes, also in an architrave, topped with a deep cornice. On the first floor, there is a shallow bowed sash window with glazing bars, and on the second floor, a 16-pane sash window in a flush wood architrave. Each floor has sill bands, and there are wooden gutter brackets. A ridge stack is located on the left side of the roof.
