Description
No. 6 Market Place is a house that has been converted into a shop with a dwelling above. It dates from the mid-18th century and features a rendered exterior with a stone slate roof. The building stands three storeys high and has three bays, with quoins at the corners. The shop entrance consists of 20th-century glazed double doors, which are flanked by plate-glass shop windows. To the far right, there is a six-panel door with a traceried overlight above it. The windows are recessed sashes with glazing bars, set within stone architraves that have keystones and moulded sills. There are stone bands at the first and second floors and at the eaves. A moulded rainwater head, likely made of lead, is positioned at the far right. The building is topped with a brick parapet that features a stone cornice, and there is a brick stack at the left end.
