Description

The barn at Hall Farm dates from the mid-18th century and is constructed of coursed squared stone with ashlar and brick dressings, topped by a pantile roof. It stands two storeys high and consists of three bays. The main elevation features a gable end, with a large central wagon board door set in a round brick arch that includes a keystone, extending through both storeys. There is a continuous impost band at the first-floor level. Flanking the arch are blind doorways with flat brick arches, and above these are blind square openings on the first floor. The gables include diamond pattern brick ventilation holes, shaped kneelers, and stone coping. This barn occupies an important position within the townscape.
