Description

Hall Farmhouse is an early to mid-18th century farmhouse located on the Green in Crakehall. The main block is constructed of coursed squared stone with brick dressings, and has a pantile roof with stone slates at the eaves. It comprises four bays, two storeys high, arranged with a lobby-entrance plan, and is joined to a one-bay, two-storey block to the left by a one-bay, single-storey link. The main block features brick quoins between each bay, with bays 2 and 4 being wider. Bay 2 projects forward, containing a four-panel door topped with a fanlight featuring radiating glazing bars, set beneath a round brick arch with a keystone. Sash windows with glazing bars are found within brick surrounds with flat arches. The first floor windows are six-pane sashes in brick surrounds to bays 1, 3 and 4, and a similar window to bay 2. Brick eaves are present, and the roof is hipped with a ridge stack. A four-pane casement window is in the linking bay. The left-hand block has brick quoins, and features a sash with glazing bars and a 12-pane side-sliding sash on the ground floor, both within similar surrounds to the other windows. It also has brick eaves and a hipped roof with a side wall stack.
