Description

A pair of houses dating from the 18th century, situated on The Green in Hutton Rudby. The houses are constructed of red brick on an ashlar plinth, with rendered sections around the porch. They have pantiled and flat-tiled roofs and brick stacks. The elevation is two storeys high, with three bays for No. 3 and two bays for No. 4. No. 3, on the right-hand side, features a half-glazed door within an early 20th-century gabled porch, which has a swept tiled roof and tile-corbelled eaves, along with an 8-pane sash window in the front of the porch. No. 4 has a wide 20th-century central entrance featuring a 15-pane glazed door with 10-pane sidelights, all sheltered by a wide, bracketed cornice hood. All other windows throughout both houses are 16-pane sashes, set within flat gauged-brick arches and with projecting stone cills. The roof is hipped on the left-hand side, and there are five stone-coped stacks along the ridge.
