THIRKLEBY HIGH AND LOW A19 SE 47 NE WITH OSGODBY (west side) 4/58 Stockhill Green Farmhouse (formerly listed as 5.6.87 Stockhill Farmhouse) GV II

Farmhouse. Mid-late C18 with C20 alterations. Dark red brick in English garden wall bond; pantile roof. 3-cell lobby-entry plan. 2 storeys, 3 bays (4 first-floor openings). Step up to 4-panel door in wooden surround with pilasters and cornice under bracketed hood. To its right a c1980 bow window. To left and far right. C20 2-light windows under flat brick arches. First floor: 2-course band; blind square recess above door and three C20 windows. Stepped and dentilled eaves. Brick stacks to ridge above door and between right-hand bays. Rear: traces of two bricked-up ground-floor windows on left. Right return: two C20 windows under flat brick arches to ground floor;two bricked-up openings above; first floor and eaves bands returned from front. Left return: bricked-up doorway on right, possibly indicating former end-entry plan.
