Description
Red House Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped pantiled roof. The building has a three-cell lobby entry plan and stands two storeys tall. On the ground floor, the entrance is located to the left of centre and consists of a part glazed door. Flanking this door are three-light glazing bar casements, with a blind opening to the right. All these elements are recessed and have gauged brick cambered heads. The first floor has two three-light glazing bar casements, with a blind opening in the right bay. The exterior includes a continuous offset plinth, a plat band, and a dentilled eaves cornice. A ridge stack is positioned to the left of centre.
At the rear, there is a catslide roof over an original continuous lean-to outshut, which has a central entrance featuring a 20th-century open porch. Flanking this entrance are part opening and part metal frame three-light casements. The right end has three-light casements with a cambered head on the ground floor. The left end has a weatherboarded lean-to addition. The lean-to returns feature hayloft doors, which are blocked to the right, and parapets with tumbled-in brickwork, along with moulded kneelers at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
