Description

St Mary’s Cottage is a late 18th-century house with 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of red brick in an irregular Flemish bond pattern, with a pantile roof. The house is two storeys high and has two bays. There is a slight rise in level to a central 20th-century six-panel door, set within a trellis porch, flanked by 20th-century sixteen-pane sash windows, all with flat brick arches. Above, there are two further sixteen-pane side-sliding sash windows. An eaves band runs along the top of the walls. The building has shaped stone kneelers and an ashlar coping. Brick end stacks are present, the left one being external. A single-storey building to the right, and a further addition to the right, are not of particular architectural interest.
