Description
The Punch Bowl Inn is a public house located on Main Street in Marton cum Grafton. It dates from the late 16th century and was likely originally a two-bay house that underwent significant expansion in the early 18th century, with further extensions added in the 20th century, including a modern wing to the right. The building features a timber frame that is rendered, with a high plinth and a very steeply pitched pantile roof that includes a modern dormer. It stands two storeys tall, with two Yorkshire sash windows on the first floor and three squat sash windows from the 19th century below. The entrance has a modern wooden door set within an architrave, topped by a narrow oblong fanlight. Inside, there is a heavy beam and joist in one of the front rooms, along with a corner post and hall plate from the original rear wall.
