Description

Peach Tree Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse located on Reas Lane in Marton cum Grafton. The farmhouse is constructed of local reddish-brown brick in a stretcher bond pattern. It features a three-course stepped and moulded first-floor string course and coursed-in brick pilasters to the first floor. Other notable exterior features include stepped eaves, shaped corbels to the gable end facing the street, a Welsh slate roof with a raised verge to the east gable end, and ridge and end chimneys. The building is L-shaped, with three wide, irregular bays and a projecting gable bay to the left. Modern casements are present, alongside a blocked opening to the attic storey of the gable. The front door is surrounded by an elliptical-arched, rusticated brick surround. A Yorkshire fire insurance sign dated 1824 is affixed to the building.
