Description

This is a drinking fountain located at the north-east corner of the Town Hall in Leyburn, dating from the mid-19th century. Made of cast iron, the fountain is cylindrical and stands approximately 1 metre high. It features a fluted shaft on a base, with a lion mask that formerly had spouts, a hemispherical cap, and an acorn finial on top. There is also a projecting rest for water containers.
