Description

The remains of St Mary's Chapel are located in the churchyard of St Mary the Virgin. This medieval structure is built from coursed rubblestone and ashlar. It features a small stone-coped gabled wall that includes two lancet openings, with a larger similar opening above them in the gable. This chapel was part of a chapelry constructed by the monks of Byland Abbey.
