Description

Numbers 2, 4, and 6 are a group of three houses dating to the late 18th and early 19th centuries. They are built of coursed squared stone, with Nos 2 and 4 having a visible plinth. The roofs are pantiled and have stone copings and kneelers, along with brick and stone stacks. Each house is two storeys high and two bays wide, with No 6 having a gable facing to the rear. A passage entrance is located between Nos 4 and 6. The front doors are half-glazed 19th-century designs, with a 6-panel door and overlight at No 6. The rear elevation features glazing-bar sashes, a round-arched stair window with a decorative surround, and a corniced stack. A tall stone wall extends to a small outhouse situated on the north boundary of the yard belonging to No 2. The houses occupy an important corner site overlooking the bridge.
