Description
Snell House Farmhouse is a laithehouse dating to the mid-18th century, situated on the east side of Pannal Otley Road. The building is constructed of coursed squared gritstone with a graduated stone slate roof. The farmhouse is two storeys and originally two bays wide, with an attached three-bay barn. Quoins are visible. The front of the farmhouse has a 20th-century half-glazed door in a plain surround, with tie-stone jambs to the left of centre. Flanking this door are two-light, flat-faced mullion windows on both the ground and first floors. The right gable features a bulbous kneeler and gable coping, and corniced end stacks. The barn, attached to the left of the farmhouse, originally contained a byre door with a tie-stone jamb to the right and a raised and widened entrance on the left. A cart entrance is located to the right, featuring board double doors set within a segmental arch with quoined jambs, the voussoirs displaying herringbone tooling. It also has a bulbous kneeler and gable coping to the left. Attached outbuildings to the left and right of the barn are not of particular interest.
