Description
The dovecote at Camblesforth Hall, located approximately 5 metres east of the house, is a structure believed to date from the 16th century, with some rebuilding in the 19th century that includes alterations to the upper courses and re-roofing. It is constructed of reddish-brown brick in an irregular English garden wall bond, featuring purple brick dressings and a Welsh slate roof. There are entrances on two sides, both equipped with plank doors, with the entrance on the west side set beneath a segmental arch. The south side includes casement windows and remnants of diaper patterned brickwork. A dentil eaves band is present, and the roof is hipped. Inside, the dovecote is lined with brick nesting boxes.
