Description
Walk Mill is a disused 19th-century corn watermill located on Mill Lane, Leyburn, and known as Leyburn Mill on Ordnance Survey maps. The mill is constructed of rubble with a stone slate roof. It is two storeys high and has one first-floor window. A projecting wing originally stood to the left but is now incorporated into an adjoining mill house. A side-sliding sash window is present on the ground floor, and access to the first floor is from the rear. A derelict overshot water wheel is located on the right return. Inside, the ground floor contains spur gearing from the mid-to-late 19th century. The first floor contains two pairs of millstones with associated gearing and wooden furniture.
