Description
Barclays Bank is a bank building from the early 19th century, constructed of coursed rubble with a stone slate roof. It stands three storeys high and has four bays. In the second bay, there is a six-panel door beneath a fanlight, set in a round-arched ashlar surround that features imposts, a moulded arch, and a fluted keystone. The fourth bay contains a flat-arched carriage opening. The first and third bays on the ground floor have tripartite sash windows, while the first and second floors are adorned with sash windows that have exposed sash boxes and stone lintels. There are chimney stacks at the left end and between the third and fourth bays, along with an additional stack in the third bay. Inside the bank, there is a brass nameplate for Swaledale and Wensleydale Bank Limited. The building is included for its group value.
