Description
The two coal depot sheds at Leyburn Station were built in 1854 for the Bedale and Leyburn Railway Company. They are constructed from coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and feature slate roofs with ashlar coped gables and quoins. The south front has a large central cart shed opening for each building, which is framed by segmental headed ashlar surrounds and has plank double doors. To the west, there are two glazing bar sash windows. The east front features a single large engine entrance with a round headed ashlar surround and later plank doors. Above this entrance, in the gable, is a circular ventilation hole with an ashlar surround. The north front is blind. Inside, there is a 1 ton static crane.
