Description
35 and 37 Greengate are a pair of houses located in Malton, dating from the late 18th century, with some later alterations and extensions. No. 35 was partly rebuilt in the late 20th century. The houses are constructed of red brick in stretcher bond, with some extensions in rubble sandstone. They feature a brick dentil eaves cornice and a pantile roof with brick end stacks. The front elevation is two stories high with three windows. The paired doors consist of six raised-and-fielded panels with narrow overlights positioned in the center. The windows are four-pane sashes with painted stone sills, and the first-floor window above the door to No. 37 is blind. All openings have flat arches made of painted gauged brick. At the rear, there is a continuous outshut with a catslide roof, and the left return has an external, skewed stack.
