Description
The stable and granary, located approximately 3 metres to the south-west of Stockhill Green Farmhouse, is a farm outbuilding dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of dark red brick in English garden wall bond and features a pantile roof. The building is two storeys high with two wide bays.
On the ground floor, the left bay has a stable door, with a square opening under a header-brick arch to its right. The right bay contains two round archways; the left archway is small with brick infill and a board door, while the right archway is partly bricked-up with an inset board door. The first floor has a square opening with wooden slats and segmental header-brick arches in each bay, and there is a bricked-up doorway to the left of the right bay. The eaves are stepped.
On the left side, there are 19th-century steps leading up to a board granary door on the right. The right side features a trough chute on the left and a two-light wood-framed window on the right. There is a later rear outshut and attached buildings that are not of special interest. The building is included for its group value.
