Description
THIRKLEBY HIGH AND LOW A19 SE 47 NE WITH OSGODBY (west side) 4/59 Stable and granary approx 3 metres to south-west of Stockhill Green Farmhouse 5.6.87 (formerly listed as being to west of Stockhill Farmhouse) GV II Stable and granary now farm outbuilding. Mid-late C18. Dark red brick in English garden wall bond; pantile roof. 2 storeys, 2 wide bays. Ground floor: left bay has a stable door with square opening under header-brick arch to its right; right bay has 2 round archways, that to left small with brick infill and board door, that to right partly bricked-up with inset board door. First floor: a square opening with wooden slats and segmental header-brick arch to each bay; on left of right bay a bricked-up doorway. Stepped eaves. Left return: C19 steps up to board granary door on right. Right return: trough chute on left; 2-light wood-framed window on right. Later rear outshut and attached buildings not of special interest.
