Description
West Moor Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century and mid 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared gritstone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and three bays, with quoins and a lower two-storey, two-bay block to the right. The central door, which is from the 20th century, is set in a plain surround and is flanked by three-light flat-faced mullions on each floor. There is an inserted two-light window in the centre of the first floor. The house has a large banded stack to the right and a smaller stack to the left.
Inside, there is a large cambered incised arch with a keystone above the fireplace in the right room. The lower block has a grey slate roof and features a four-light recessed chamfered mullion window on the ground floor, with a small two-light window above it. The main block is likely a rebuild of the hall and parlour end of a 17th-century house, with the fireplace still retained.
