Description

Cobscar Mill Chimney is a chimney from a lead smelting mill built in 1848. It is constructed of rubble and has a square plan, standing approximately 12 metres high and slightly tapering in section. The chimney features a semicircular arch made of rubble voussoirs over the opening to the flue and has a cornice near the top. In 1855, the flue from Cobscar Mill was extended by a flue from Keldheads Mill, which is nearly 2 miles to the southeast.
