Description
This is a late 18th-century to early 19th-century house, now used as a shop, situated on the east side of High Street in Northallerton. The building is constructed of brown brick in a header bond and has a 20th-century tile roof. It is three storeys high and consists of two bays. The ground floor has a passage entrance leading to Tweddle's yard on the right, and a 20th-century central door flanked by shop windows. The first and second floors each contain 16-pane sash windows with exposed sash boxes, ashlar sills, and flat arches. Brick end stacks are present. A rear wing features stepped brick eaves and a large external brick stack at one end. A late 19th-century wrought-iron bracket for a hanging sign is located on the right side of the first floor.
