Description
This boundary stone, located about 550 metres south-west of Westhouse Lodge, dates from the early to mid-19th century. It is made of painted millstone grit and stands approximately 1 metre high and 1 metre wide. The stone features two horizontal scored lines, with the inscriptions 'THORNTON IN LONSDALE' and 'BURTON IN LONSDALE' positioned between them, separated by a vertical V-shaped groove. The edges are chamfered, while the rear side is plain.
