Description
Lowfields is a farmhouse dated 1763, with alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of slobbered rubble with painted stone dressings and has a stone slate roof. The building features a central staircase plan and is two storeys high with a double front. The central entrance is flanked by engaged pilasters and has a keyed basket arched lintel above a plank door, with a mid-19th century gabled hood. Above the entrance is a datestone on brackets, featuring Doric pilasters and a cornice, inscribed with "L W A 1763." The farmhouse has two windows per storey, all of which are three-light recessed flat faced mullioned windows with moulded surrounds, fitted with two-pane casements and fixed lights. Gable end ridge stacks are present. The interior is not accessible.
