Description
This mid-18th century house, known as the Northallerton and Dales Water Board, is built of ashlar and features a plinth. It stands two storeys high, with the centre section breaking forward beneath a moulded pediment that frames a semi-circular window fitted with a modern hung sash. There is a band that runs between the storeys.
On the first floor, there are three windows, each with moulded stone frames. The ground floor has two windows adorned with pulvinated friezes and small cornices. A central modern door is set within a well-crafted painted stone case, featuring shaped jambs, a pulvinated frieze with a panel, and a small dentil cornice. The roof is made of stone slate.
To the left, a slightly set-back section has ground floor windows with plain stone lintels and modern fenestration on the first floor, which is framed by moulded stone surrounds. The building retains its plinth.
