Description

The brewery located 20 metres north of Birdsall House dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of limestone ashlar with a Westmorland slate roof. The building is rectangular and single-cell in design, featuring rounded corners. It has two storeys and one window on the first floor. The entrance is a boarded door set in a shouldered surround beneath a flat arch. On the first floor, there is a louvred opening also beneath a flat arch. The gable has coping. At the time of the last survey, the brewery was disused. This building is included for its group value with Birdsall House.
