Description
Victoria House is a pair of houses built in the mid-18th century and altered around 1860. They are constructed of red brick with pantile roofs and raised coped gables, featuring four brick stacks. The buildings are two storeys high with an attic. The street front has a central passage opening, flanked by two windows that have 19th-century sashes in their original box frames. To the right, there is an inserted doorway with a six-panel door and an overlight. Above, to the left, are two similar sashes, and to the right, there are two more 19th-century sash windows. All these openings have painted lintels. Above again are two large 19th-century dormers with glazed cheeks and plain sashes. Number 8 has a lean-to greenhouse attached. The interior of Victoria House retains its original layout, including most of its wooden partition walls, winder stairs, and shutters.
