Description

Gargrave Bridge is a public road bridge built in the 19th century. It features heavily tooled masonry and has three elliptical arches, with their spandrels made of extended voussoirs. The cutwaters are splayed back to create piers that are integrated into the solid parapet. There are square piers at the abutments. At the north end, there are quadrant retaining walls that support simple iron railings, which terminate in round piers topped with heavy caps.
