Description

The Newby Memorial, located approximately 10 metres south of the Priory Church in Lower Allithwaite, is a chest tomb dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features sides adorned with incised lozenges. The top of the tomb has rounded edges. The memorial commemorates James, who died in 1778, Elizabeth, who died in 1779, and their children.
