Description

Fairbank Cottage is a small, late 18th-century house. It is a symmetrical three-bay design, with two storeys. The exterior is constructed of rubble and features quoins, a string course, and coping to the gables. The windows have plain stone surrounds and are sash windows with all original glazing bars. A late 19th-century semi-octagonal stone porch with a pediment sits over the doorway, which is a six-panel door with the upper four panels glazed. The house has two chimneys. There are single-bay wings to each side, matching the rest of the building in detail. A high wall, including a yard entrance, connects Fairbank Cottage with Number 4 Fairbank.
