Description

Number 6 is an early 18th-century house that was altered in the early 19th century. It is constructed of pebble-dashed stone with a graduated slate roof, the rear section having composition tiles. The house is two storeys with an attic, featuring four windows to the first floor and a wing extending to the rear right. The doorway, located to the right of the centre, has a four-panel door with glazed upper sections, set within a renewed wooden doorcase featuring Doric columns and a broken pediment. The windows are predominantly 12-pane sashes with projecting sills, with a single 16-pane sash to the right, and a twin sash to the left of the door. Bay 1 contains a wide passage opening. A ridge stack is situated to the right of bay 1.

The interior of the house retains transverse oak beams in the main body and the rear wing. The staircase has a half landing, with square rods, barrel-turned newels, and a moulded handrail. There are some two-pane doors to the first floor.

Attached to the front of the house is a limestone front garden wall. The wall includes square gate piers, a low wall topped with later railings, and taller ends with copings that return to adjoin the house. The property was once known as Rock House.
