Description
The waiting room on the east side of the line at Askam in Furness Railway Station is an early 20th-century building that has been altered. It is constructed of brick with weather-boarded sides and features a slated roof. The structure is single storey and rectangular in shape. A catslide roof projection supported by brackets creates a near-central entry. There is a continuous concrete sill beneath the weather-boarding, and the windows are simple casements, some of which are blocked. The roof has roll-moulded ridges and oversailing verges with pendants. The left gable is formed by a herringboned truss on brackets. This building is included for its group value with the other station buildings.
