Description

The Jackson Monument, located approximately 33.5 metres south of the Priory Church in Lower Allithwaite, is a chest tomb dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of ashlar and features a plain chest design. The top of the tomb is damaged and bears inscriptions commemorating Ann Jackson, the wife of Thomas, a Master Mariner, who died in 1789, as well as her son William, who also died in 1789. An end panel records the death of Elizabeth in 1790.
