Description

No. 2 Market Street is a mid-19th century building that stands two and a half storeys tall. It has a plastered exterior with a stone plinth and a slate roof, featuring one chimney. The gable is adorned with bargeboards and a pendant at the apex. There are two windows on the front, each with sills and moulded architraves, and they are sashed. A similar window is located in the gable, which has a basket-headed design. The ground floor features a double shopfront, flanked by Doric pilasters and a frieze. On the left side of the shopfront is a large sash window, while the right side has colonnettes. The entrance includes a basket-headed two-leaved door with glazed upper panels.
