Description

The Goad and Hall Memorials, located approximately 47.5 metres south of the Priory Church in Lower Allithwaite, Cartmel, are a chest tomb and gravestone dating from the late 18th century. The chest tomb is constructed of ashlar and stone rubble, featuring balusters at the corners and centers of the sides, with rubble infill. It commemorates John Goad, a mariner who died in 1782, and Ann Goad, who died in 1758. Adjacent to the chest tomb is a vertical slab with a shaped top, which records Richard Hall, who died in 1789, and David Bayliff, a stonemason who died in 1836.
