Description

The threshing barn, located to the north-east of Warcop Tower farmhouse, dates to 1726, as indicated by a jamb stone above a wagon door. It is constructed of roughly-coursed rubble with quoins set upon a boulder plinth, and incorporates sandstone blocks at the south end, which may be re-used medieval material. The roof is covered in graduated slates. A central wagon door has an elliptical head within a chamfered surround. To the right of the wagon door is a doorway with a monolithic segmental head, above which is a 20th-century window. The interior contains queen-strut roof trusses.
