Description

This is a late 18th and early 19th century house, rebuilt on an earlier site. It’s constructed of wet-dashed rubble with a decorative sill band on the side facing the road. The building has a moulded cast-iron gutter with dentils, and a hipped roof covered in graduated slate tiles. A full-height, gabled porch projects from the south side. Stone chimneys are located at the ends of the roof.

The south-facing elevation has three bays arranged in a 2:1 pattern. A panelled front door is situated between two sash windows, all within a corniced and pilastered surround. Above the door is a sash window. To the left is a single-storey bay window, containing a pair of sashes on the ground floor and two sashes above. The roadside elevation is symmetrical, with three bays and three sash windows with glazing bars within architraves on each floor. A bracketed cornice emphasizes the central window on each floor.
