Description
George House is a house that was formerly known as the George Hotel. It dates from the late 18th century and features incised painted stucco on a chamfered painted stone plinth. The building has raised quoins with V-shaped joints at the projections and a slate roof, which includes sandstone slates on the projection. There are stucco end chimney stacks. The house is three storeys tall and has two bays, with a two-storey, single-bay extension that projects to the left. The entrance includes a six-panel door set in a plain painted stone surround topped with a semicircular flush pediment. On either side of the door are double sash windows with glazing bars, also in plain painted stone surrounds. The upper floor features sash windows with glazing bars in plain painted stone surrounds.
