Description
The Punchbowl Inn is an inn dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed from rendered rubble with quoins and features a first-floor sill band. The main building has a graduated slate roof with corniced stone chimneys, while a lower extension at the east end has a hipped graduated slate roof. The symmetrical front of the building is two stories high and consists of five bays. It has a central panelled door set in a pedimented doorcase with Tuscan pilasters, and there are sashes with glazing bars in stone surrounds. The extension includes a plank door in a stone surround with a sash above it, and there are three floors of sashes on the east return. A 20th-century addition at the west end is not included in the listing.
