Description

Marsden Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century and later. It features roughcast render and a graduated greenslate roof. The building has two storeys and three windows, which are mostly 20th-century casements. There is an off-centre door located under a gabled timber porch with a slate roof. To the right of the door, there is a 19th-century small-paned window with a single opening pane.

Inside, the farmhouse contains an 18th-century oak panelled screen that has an enriched frieze with initials and the date H, which includes RM 1631. There is also a three-stage cupboard with turned pendants and fascia, along with five cupboards, and a spice cupboard featuring the initials H. The interior is further characterized by massive oak beams that have deep stop chamfers. The building is included in the listing primarily for its interior features.
