Description
Nos. 18, 19, and 20 Tudor Square are a row of three houses that have been converted into shops. They date from the mid to late 18th century and have been altered over time. The buildings are covered in stucco over stone and feature slate and composition tile roofs. They are two storeys high and have a 2:2:2 window arrangement on the first floor.
No. 19, located in the center, appears to be the earliest of the three and is set lower than the others. It has a part-glazed door to the left of an elongated plate-glass window, with tall casements on the first floor. No. 20, to the right, has two plain shop windows flanked by part-glazed doors. It features a plain sash window on the left and a large casement window on the right, with a 20th-century plaque inscribed 'TUDOR HOUSE 1748' positioned between them. No. 18, on the left, has an early 20th-century shop window with an integral door and overlight beneath a boxed-in cornice, along with two plain sash windows on the first floor and end stacks. This row of shops adjoins Nos. 148-152 Market Street and forms the south side of Tudor Square.
