Description
Ashleigh House, along with its railings and adjoining garage, is a house and garage that was originally a cottage, built in the early 19th century. The building features stucco walls on a chamfered plinth, with all dressings made of painted stone and V-jointed quoins. The return walls are constructed of brick, and the roof is made of local slate, topped with original end brick chimney stacks. The structure is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with a lower two-storey, single-bay section that now serves as a garage, previously known as No. 24. The central entrance has a 20th-century panelled door with an overlight, set within a pilastered doorcase. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, framed in stone surrounds. The former cottage section features a 20th-century garage door and a sash window above it in plain reveals. The property also includes subsidiary features such as a low wall, speared garden railings, and a gate at the front. The interior has not been inspected.
