Description

This lamp-post, located north-east of Tallentire Hall, dates from the mid-19th century and is made of cast iron. It features a square plinth topped with open-winged birds that support a draped urn. The shaft is decorated with a leaf and flower pattern and has two segmental-arm lights, along with an upright 20th-century globe on a floral head. Originally designed for gas lighting, it has since been converted to electricity. The lamp-post is listed for its group value with Tallentire Hall.
