Description

Rose Hill and The Cottage are two houses, likely dating from the 18th century with alterations in the early 19th century. They have painted roughcast walls, angle pilasters, and a hipped roof covered with graduated greenslate, featuring painted incised stucco chimney stacks. The houses are two storeys high, each with three bays sharing a common roofline. Rose Hill has a panelled door with an overlight, both within a pilastered surround, while The Cottage has a 20th-century wooden porch. Sash windows with glazing bars are set in painted stone surrounds; the right-hand side of Rose Hill features a canted bay window. A 20th-century garage door is on Rose Hill’s left side. The buildings are included on the list for their group value in the landscape along with Rosebank.
